Timetable:

Wednesday: Gates open for camping at 12:00, and the Arena and Bar will open at 18:00 for our traditional meet and greet including Morris Dancers, a sing-around and barbeque finishing at 23:30. Be sure to join us on the Wednesday for a relaxed and friendly start to your festival weekend.

Thursday: Gates open at 09:00, with the Arena open from 10:00 till 23:30.
Thursday will be a full day of music from local artists on the main stage from 11:00 until 23:00.

Fri/Sat/Sun: Gates open at 09:00, with the Arena open from 10:00 till 23:30.
Three days of music from the main stage from 12:00 until 23:00.



Workshops, Singarounds, Dancing.

Thursday/Friday/Saturday/Sunday at the Woodland Fringe
The Woodland Fringe is located in the woodland area near the day car park alongside the stream and has two marquees.
One is for workshops and has a wooden floor for Ceilidh’s and Morris Dancing workshops as well as song writing, using your instruments, meditation and much more, the other is for song and ale sessions, singarounds and poetry workshops. We also have workshops on trader stands and an area for children’s activities.

Programmes, tee-shirts and artist CD’s are available from the Merchandise Tent near the stage.

On-Site Facilities
Facilities are provided for on-site camping, motor-homes and caravans at £10 per night per pitch or £40 for a 5 day weekend ticket,

We have two 4 bay shower units and plenty of mains water taps across the site but no electrical hook-ups.

We have far more portaloo toilets, urinals and disabled toilets than are legally required across the festival site.

 We have portaloo’s, disabled toilets, urinals and a number of low level disposal points for toilet waste in each camping field.

We also have an attendant that is on site all day monitoring the showers and waste facilities

Parking for non-campers is free and a short walk from the arena

Well behaved dogs are welcome, but all dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and the owner must be aware of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and adhere to it at all times. Please can we also ask that you use doggy bags to clean up after your dog. There are plenty of bins around the site.

Food and the bar
Having already established a reputation as one of the friendliest festivals, we keep that image with many food stalls supplying a selection of British and World Foods including vegan and vegetarian.

On Wednesday there will be a BBQ between 18:00 - 21:00
Our breakfast bar by the arena entrance is open daily between 08:00 - 11:00 serving bacon, egg and sausage baps washed down with tea and coffee
Our bar is open from 11:00 - 23:30 each day.

Local facilities
If you need basic supplies such as newspapers etc we have Landford garage within walking distance. We also have other local shops in the next village of West Wellow, just 2 miles away.  These include a hardware shop, chemist, butcher and two general stores.
Our nearest town is Romsey which is 6 miles.

​The festival site is situated in Plaitford the beautiful village setting in the Test Valley district of Hampshire on the A36, between Southampton and Salisbury. If you are travelling from afar head for Junction 2 of the M27, Ower Roundabout, and follow the signs to Salisbury. The site will be found 4 miles along the A36 on the right hand side at the small village of Plaitford. To get to the main entrance turn right into Sherfield English Road just after The Shoe Inn.

The address for your satnav is SO51 6EF. Our nearest railway stations are Southampton, Salisbury and Romsey and  local Airports near Southampton and Bournemouth.

Q. Where is it?

A. On the A36 between Salisbury and Southampton, 6 miles from Romsey

Q. What time do the gates open?

A. Daily at 09:00

Q. Are there any parking facilities?

A. Yes, parking is free and just a short walk to the arena with access from Sherfield English Road

Q. Where is the nearest railway station?

A. The nearest railway station is Romsey, which is six miles. There are taxis available, but very few buses.
Our best connected railway stations are Southampton and Salisbury for which we are midway on the A36.
There is a reasonable bus service (X7) through our village of Plaitford during the daytime Thursday,  Friday and Saturday
There is no service on Sunday or evenings.

WHAT CAN I BRING?

Q. Are children welcome?

A. Yes, we have entertainment available in our children's area and lovely walks

Q: Can I bring my dog?

A: Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a lead at all times and the owner must be aware of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and adhere at all times. It is essential that you bring doggy bags to clean up after your dog. There are plenty of bins around the site. There are also plenty of taps plus drinking bowls provided as well as a stream.

Q. Can I bring fold up chairs, wind breaks or gazebos?

A. Fold up chairs are allowed but wind shields or gazebos cannot be brought into the festival arena. And don’t forget your flags!

Q. Can I bring alcohol?

A. Alcohol for personal consumption may be brought onto the campsite but not into the Arena due to licensing regulations.
The police conditions on our licensing application includes “the supply of alcohol for consumption both on and off the premises”. This condition allows alcohol bought within the license area (arena) to be taken outside the arena but within the parameters of the farm such as the woodland fringe and camping areas.

To be clear we can allow alcohol to be taken out of the arena (licensed area) but security will stop alcohol leaving the site (farm). We will continue to stop alcohol from being brought into the licensed area (arena) from anywhere on the farm such as the woodland fringe and the campsites. If you leave the arena with alcohol, please drink up before you re-enter the arena as it will be taken from you.

There is a Challenge 25 policy operating at the bar so if you’re lucky enough to look under 25 please bring your passport, photo card driving licence or ‘PASS’ ID with you.


Q. Can I bring glass into the arena?

A. Glass is not allowed in the arena but we do provide reusable New Forest Folk Festival branded glasses at a £1 each. These are non-refundable.


CAMPING

Q. When is the site open/closed?

A From noon on Wednesday until noon on Monday (during the week of the festival).

Q. Can I park my car next to my tent?

A. Yes

Q. Are there toilet facilities (including disabled facilities) on the camp site?

Q. Can I have a barbeque or fire at the camp site?

A. Open fires, charcoal, barbeques, sky lanterns, flares and burning lamps are not permitted. Regular gas cooking equipment is fine.

Any dangerous equipment will be condemned by the festival safety team and may be confiscated.


Q. Is there a water supply on the campsite?
A. We have many water taps supplied from a mains supply which runs throughout the site

Like most festivals we are phasing out single use water bottles and now have a stock of festival branded water bottles. These are available to purchase both filled with water and empty so that you can fill yourself at our many taps around the site.

We also have taps specifically marked for rinsing chemical waste containers in the camping fields

DISABLED

Q. What about disabled facilities?

A. For those that are not camping there is a disabled parking area adjacent to the arena entrance.
There are electric wheelchair charging points at the top of the disabled camping area for use during the festival.

Q. How accessible is the site for the disabled?

A. All access. Disabled toilet facilities are available for the festival and disabled campers will be situated close to disabled toilets on the campsite.
